Rosenanishka "Nani" Mewhirter is the owner and creative heart behind Nani's Toy Box, a Rochester-based handmade crochet business specializing in adorable plushies, sensory items, fidgets, and one-of-a-kind creations designed to spark joy and imagination.
A devoted stay-at-home mom of three, Nani first picked up a crochet hook as a creative outlet and quickly discovered a passion that blossomed into a thriving small business. Every item she creates is handcrafted with care, blending creativity, comfort, and fun for children and families of all ages.
As the mother of a son with autism, Nani has a special appreciation for the importance of sensory play and inclusive toys. Her personal experiences inspire many of her designs, allowing her to create products that offer comfort, encourage imaginative play, and meet the unique needs of children with diverse abilities.
Whether she's introducing her newest creations at local vendor events, spending time with her family, or dreaming up her next crochet design, Nani is committed to spreading kindness, creativity, and smiles throughout the Rochester community. Through Nani's Toy Box, she hopes every handmade piece brings a little more joy into someone's day.
Ashanthi Gajaweera, MD, Healthspan Nuerology, PC

Dr. Ashanthi Gajaweera (Dr. Ashanthi) is a board-certified neurologist, Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Rochester, and founder of Healthspan Neurology PC — a practice built on the understanding that the majority of dementia cases are preventable, and that protecting cognitive longevity needs to start decades before symptoms begin.
With over 25 years of clinical experience caring for thousands of patients with dementia, she is also one of a small number of neurologists to hold Menopause Society certification.
Her message: midlife — for both men and women — is one of the most important windows we have to protect our cognitive future.
She sees patients throughout New York State and speaks on Alzheimer's prevention, the menopausal brain, and evidence-based strategies for long-term brain health.
Miss Rochester International Pageant

The Miss Rochester International Pageant is more than a competition—it's a celebration of culture, leadership, confidence, and community. Founded in 2023, the organization provides girls and young women from all backgrounds with an empowering platform to embrace their heritage, develop leadership skills, build lifelong confidence, and become positive role models within their communities.
Rooted in diversity and inclusion, the pageant encourages contestants to celebrate what makes them unique while fostering friendships, personal growth, community service, and cultural appreciation. Participants gain valuable experience in public speaking, self-confidence, leadership, and community involvement, preparing them for success both on and off the stage.

Meet the Founder & CEO – Inés López
With more than three decades dedicated to promoting culture, the arts, and youth empowerment, Inés López has become one of Rochester's most respected cultural leaders. A talented dancer, artistic director, pageant founder, and community advocate, Inés has spent her life creating opportunities for young people to celebrate their heritage while developing confidence and leadership skills.
Her journey began as a member of the renowned dance group El Poder Latino from 1993 to 1999. During that time, she also served as Coordinator of the Miss Puerto Rico of Rochester Cultural Pageant, helping organize cultural events that highlighted Hispanic traditions and empowered young women.
In 2000, Inés founded Srta. Hispanidad de Rochester (Miss Hispanidad of Rochester), a pageant dedicated to celebrating Hispanic culture, education, and community leadership. Building on that legacy, she launched the Miss Rochester International Pageant in 2023, expanding her vision into a multicultural organization that welcomes participants from every background.
Today, Inés continues to inspire future generations through her unwavering commitment to cultural pride, community engagement, youth development, and empowering young women to become confident leaders who make a positive difference in the world.
Meet the Director of Operations – Angel Sepulveda Lopez
As the Director of Operations for the Miss Rochester International Pageant, Angel Sepulveda Lopez plays an essential role in bringing the organization's mission to life. A dedicated leader, community advocate, and skilled event professional, Angel oversees the day-to-day operations that ensure every program and event is organized with excellence and professionalism.
His responsibilities extend far beyond event coordination. Angel manages contestant support, administrative operations, program development, technology integration, event logistics, and production planning. He also oversees the technical aspects of the pageant, including music coordination for both the talent competition and pageant presentations, administrative documentation, and the livestream production that allows audiences near and far to experience the excitement of the event.
Known for his attention to detail, collaborative leadership style, and passion for serving others, Angel is committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment where contestants can grow in confidence, leadership, and cultural appreciation. His dedication has been instrumental in the continued success and growth of the Miss Rochester International Pageant.

Sophia Diaz-Soldevila is a bright, talented, and inspiring young leader who proudly holds the title of 2026 Little Miss Rochester International Queen and she represented Caguas, Puerto Rico. With her beautiful smile, kind heart, and determination to make a positive difference, Sophia represents the values of confidence, leadership, and community service.
Sophia enjoys participating in pageants, performing on stage, and meeting new friends from diverse backgrounds. She believes in the importance of kindness, respect, and encouraging others to follow their dreams. Whether she is volunteering in her community, helping those around her, or representing Rochester at special events, Sophia always strives to be a positive role model for children her age.
As Little Miss Rochester International Queen, Sophia hopes to inspire young people to believe in themselves, embrace their unique talents, and never give up on their goals. She is honored to wear the crown and sash and looks forward to a year filled with service, growth, and unforgettable memories.
